Tick, tick, tick,… OpSec?

Are you counting down ’till your soldier gets home?  It’s common to add a counter, ticker, or dates on your blogs, tweets, status updates, and so on – but beware!  You don’t want those dates getting into the wrong hands.  OpSec (Operations Security) protects our operations from start to finish.  Take a moment and read about OpSec and get yourself familiar before you post something that may compromise you or your soldier’s safety. Still feel the need to count?  Try one of these:

  • My soldier proudly serving since mm/dd/yyyy
  • Proud to serve for xx days
  • Add a counter to your personal computer (no public computers!) – sidebar gadgets are great.

Have fun with it, but remember that your soldier is fighting for your safety… give him a hand and keep him as safe as you can!
